Before your first working day

Being new at work can be nervous, and we fully understand that. Before your first working day, it is important that you together with your Consultant Manager make sure that you know when you are expected to arrive at the workplace and who will be receiving you. Make sure that you also know how to report your worked time. Your Consultant Manager will perform a risk-analysis beforehand together with the client company to ensure that you come to a safe work environment.

Please read through our checklist before your first working day. You and your Consultant Manager will go through the checklist together. Also make sure to read our alcohol and drug policy, and how we work with our social and organizational working environment.

Time reporting

Your are personally responsible for reporting all your worked hours. This is done through your profile at academicwork.se. When you have worked your first day on the assignment, and log onto your profile, you will get access to the time-reporting function. Read more in our instructions for time-reporting on how to proceed. For us to be able to pay your salary, you must report your hours before the end of the month – an advice is to create a reminder for this.

You are our representative

As a consultant at Academic Work, you represent us and our brand. Our client, the company you work at, will evaluate us primarily based on the work you perform. Therefore, your work effort, attitude and mind-set as a consultant is crucial to us. While you represent and build Academic Work's brand, you also build your own brand – which is the basis for a future reference. Of course, we have full confidence in you and look forward to a successful cooperation.

If you want to know more on how you become a strong representative of Academic Work or how you build your own brand, talk to your Consultant Manager.

We offer skills development within sustainability

The labor market experiences a growing demand for competency within sustainability. Therefore, we offer skills development within the area through “Hållbarhetsacceleratorn.” The course gives you insights and tools for working with environmental and social sustainability – something that will benefit both you and your employer. The course is digital, takes around 1,5 hours to complete, and you can start it at any time. You find the course on the consultant web, under "Mina kurser" in the left side menu.

We want your feedback

In the same way our clients evaluate Academic Work, you have the possibility to evaluate us as an employer. It is important that you are satisfied and safe in your employment with us and we always want to ensure that. Therefore, we will send you a web survey every three month where we ask you to assess your experience of collaborating with us. It is of course okay to leave your feedback anonymously, but it will make it easier for your Consultant Manager to act on constructive critic or thank you for positive feedback if you leave your name.

Blow the whistle on serious misconduct – completely anonymous

Academic Work is committed to the highest standard of transparency, accountability, and integrity within our business, and we are dedicated to ensuring that our company and business is characterized by these key values. Our employees and consultants are encouraged to report any conduct which they believe to be in violation with laws, ethic principles or our internal policies to their consultant manager or, if needed, a manager of higher rank.

However, there may be situations where it is not possible or appropriate to report misconduct in accordance with the above procedures. Academic Work has therefore implemented a procedure for reporting unethical or illegal misconduct through a web-based form which ensures confidentiality, excludes conflict of interests as far as possible, and guarantees full anonymity if desired. Reports are received and evaluated by a third party who handles any additional communication with the reporting individual and forwards the errand to an appropriate receiver within Academic Work for further investigation and actions.

The primary purpose of the whistleblowing procedure is to uphold AW Groups Code of Conduct by encouraging staff to report suspected serious wrongdoings. Examples of serious misconduct which can be reported includes bribery, fraud, theft, corruption, harassment, and discrimination.

Please note that this procedure aims at misconduct of serious character within Academic Works business and organization. General dissatisfaction and minor issues shall be reported through other means, such as directly to your Consultant Manager. Misconduct within the company where your assignment takes place should be reported directly to that company.

Should the reporting individual choose to be anonymous, the identity of the individual will be kept secret from both Academic Work and the receiving third party. Should the reporting individual prefer to report misconduct via telephone or physical meeting instead, this is also possible. The reporting individual will not be subject to any negative consequences when filing the report, or any time thereafter. To learn more, please read our Whistleblowing Policy, available here.

The report form is available here.

Prohibition against discrimination in the workplace

We want you to feel welcomed by us and perceive us as an attractive employer. It is important that you as a co-worker get the chance to grow and challenge yourself, and that all co-workers are treated the same - no matter their role or background. If you, for any reason, feel or have felt discriminated during your employment, we encourage you to reach out to us. We are here to help you!

Recommend new opportunities!

As a consultant you are our eyes and ears at the client company. If you discover that there are opportunities for us to make further contributions at the company you are working for, in terms of recruitment and staffing – do not hesitate to contact your Consultant Manager. It can for example be about a manager that has a lot to do and need help during a shorter period of time, a project that is close to deadline or a colleague that will quit and need replacement. If your tip leads to a new assignment, we will show our appreciation by giving you 2000 SEK (exclusive social fees) the month after the assignment has been appointed.

Rules for when tip-bonus is issued:

  • It must be a new order that Academic Work did not know about
  • The assignment needs to be appointed by Academic Work
