As a Software Engineer at PeptiSystems, you will have a broad and influential role spanning system development and software engineering, working close to both the product and the business. You will gain a deep understanding of how the software directly enables PeptiSystems’ instruments and customer value. A key part of the role is working with system integrations and communication protocols, building robust and reliable software solutions that connect different parts of the system landscape. This requires a solid understanding of system architecture and the ability to see the bigger technical picture. You will be involved throughout the full lifecycle, from early discussions around requirements, architecture and technical choices, to hands-on development and continuous improvement of existing solutions. The role offers strong opportunities to influence technical direction, contribute to architectural decisions and help shape how the software platform evolves as the company grows.
You will join a small but highly impactful software organization where collaboration, ownership and pragmatism are central. Decision-making paths are short, and ideas and initiatives are welcomed. Work tasks
This role involves hands-on software development, from conceptualization to deployment, with a focus on building efficient, scalable, and maintainable systems that directly impact PeptiSystems business objectives.
- Work across the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement
- Develop, maintain, and enhance software solutions across the system landscape, including integrations with external modules and communication protocols
- Take ownership of solutions and actively contribute to architectural discussions, technical decision-making, and shaping team ways of working
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across software, product, and management to ensure alignment, resilience, and high-quality outcomes
- Mentor and support peers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the evolution of agile practices to maximize team flow and product impact
We are looking for
- Has a university degree in Computer Science or similar
- Solid experience in software development, this should not be your first role
- Broad background in software development, with strong skills in C#, WPF, and .NET, ideally with full-stack or system-oriented experience
- Proficiency with development tools such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git
- Solid understanding of database management and communication protocols such as COM and TCP/IP
- Experience with system integrations and version control systems
- Fluent proficiency in English, both spoken and written, as the work is conducted in the language<
It is meritorious if you have
- Previous experience in PostgreSQL and PLC programming
- Experience with MSTest or other testing frameworks
- Previous experience working with industrial or Life Science software systems
- Good knowledge in Swedish (written and spoken)
