Electronics Design Engineer

About the role

As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will play a key role in both sustaining and modernizing our existing portfolio of analytical instruments used in the food and grain industries. This senior-level role involves working across the entire product lifecycle – from R&D and development to implementation in production and long-term sustaining.

You will be responsible for implementing technical improvements, managing component end-of-life (EOL), and ensuring regulatory compliance. The products are technically complex, requiring a solid foundation in electronics and a strong understanding of how hardware and software interact.

This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with instruments and circuit boards in a lab environment, collaborating closely with colleagues in software, mechanics, and product management.

Work tasks

• Drive modernization and technical upgrades of existing products.
• Manage the full product lifecycle, including sustaining, EOL handling, and production support.
• Develop and update electronic circuit boards with digital and analog components (e.g., carrier boards, DC-DC converters, motor drivers, AD converters, LED drivers).
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
• Perform debugging and repairs at the PCBA level using oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other lab tools.
• Participate in verification and documentation for production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, applications, and product management.
• Contribute to basic firmware development, with or without RTOS.

We are looking for

• Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in PCBA design from concept to volume production.
• Proficiency in Altium Designer or similar eCAD tools.
• Strong hardware debugging skills.
• Ability to produce test and verification documentation for production.
• Experience with communication protocols: SPI, I2C, USB, UART, DisplayPort, HDMI, Ethernet, SATA, MODBUS.
• Solid understanding of EMC, ESD, and electrical safety standards.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Meriting qualifications:

• Experience with opto-electronics, microcontrollers, digital signal processing, and embedded systems.
• Experience with FPGA.
• Experience in cable and connector selection.
• Ability to lead smaller projects.
• Background in larger organizations or manufacturing industries.
• Swedish language skills.
