Scania I-talent 2026 - Back-End Developer (Python)

About the role

Together with several other I-talents, you will be offered a unique chance to participate in a program that will kick-start your journey at Scania. You are employed in a specific role and belong to a team but alternate the work in your role with meetings together with the other I-talents. The program starts every fall and is designed for you who are new in your career and aim to give you the best possible conditions to grow into your role. I-talent Program consists, in addition to daily work in your team, mainly of three parts – “Learning your professional role”, “Go-and-see” and “Training”. This provides very good opportunities to build a good network within Scania and in addition to your I-talents colleagues and your closest manager, you will be assigned a buddy who will be there for you the first time. Work tasks

As part of Product Development IT, you will work at the intersection between business and technology, contributing to a product that is crucial for Scania’s continued development. The application you will be developing is used internally within TRATON and Scania and is a pure backend solution that automatically collects and stores information about which open-source and closed-source libraries are used in various applications. The purpose is to ensure traceability and compliance with legal requirements related to software safety – a key factor for Scania to be able to sell its vehicles. You will primarily work with development in Python, AWS, and AWS DynamoDB, where the product integrates with different CI/CD pipelines within the organization.

In addition to working with an important application, you will become part of a social and multicultural team with 16 colleagues and your immediate manager, where several of your closest teammates are former I-talents! The team collaborates closely and often arranges activities together – such as after-work events, picnics, badminton, and other social activities even outside of work. Here, people support each other, take shared responsibility, and exchange knowledge to grow together. We are looking for

• A university degree in systems science, computer engineering, or a similar field
• Good knowledge of Python, AWS, CI/CD, and databases
• Very good command of English, both spoken and written
• Graduating in spring 2026 or having a maximum of 2 years of work experience when the program starts in September 2026

We consider it a merit if you have…

• Knowledge of DynamoDB
• Experience with networks and/or IT security solutions

Other information

• Start: September 2026
• Extent: Full-time, fixed-term employment for 6 months with a good chance of continue your career at Scania after the program
• Location: Södertälje and with the possibility of remote work a few days a week
