About the role

Together with several other I-talents, you will be offered a unique chance to participate in a program that will kick-start your journey at Scania. You are employed in a specific role and belong to a team but alternate the work in your role with meetings together with the other I-talents. The program starts every fall and is designed for you who are new in your career and aim to give you the best possible conditions to grow into your role.

I-talent Program consists, in addition to daily work in your team, mainly of three parts – “Learning your professional role”, “Go-and-see” and “Training”. This provides very good opportunities to build a good network within Scania and in addition to your I-talents colleagues and your closest manager, you will be assigned a buddy who will be there for you the first time. Work tasks

About the Team – Backend Developer (IASD)

In this role, you’ll work with a system that is a core part of Scania’s global sales ecosystem. Every day, we empower thousands of sales representatives worldwide while adapting to local markets. Our team of around 25 people works in smaller temporary groups of 4–5, collaborating closely across initiatives. We are transforming the system from a legacy setup with reactive processes to a modern, proactive approach focused on value and quality, improving the system wherever we make changes.

Your Role

You’ll work alongside developers on new features, technical enhancements, and system changes, gaining hands-on experience with real-world systems. Your day-to-day tasks include:

• Testing code locally and in pipelines
• Using tools like Testcontainers, AWS SAM, and Localstack
• Working with TypeScript/JavaScript build tools
• Monitoring and deploying applications

Tech Stack

• APIs: AWS Lambda + API Gateway (TypeScript/Node and .NET)
• Frontend: Angular (TypeScript)
• End-to-end testing: Playwright (TypeScript)
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB
• Architecture: Event-driven with Kafka

Work Setup

The team usually works from the Södertälje office just one day a week, but as an I-Talent, you’ll sometimes have activities that require being on-site more often.

Formal Requirements:

• Relevant post-secondary education in IT or a related field
• Basic full-stack experience, gained through studies, internships, or projects
• Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally
• Graduation by spring 2026 with a maximum of two years of work experience at the program start (Sept 2026)
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
