About the role
Our client is a specialist and market leader in advanced electronic engine management systems, Vessel/Vehicle control systems and Power distribution modules. They develop the hardware and software that optimizes performance, reduces fuel consumption, and lowers emissions for everything from marine and automotive applications to industrial engines running on renewable fuels and next- generation hybrid/electric systems with a legacy of high-octane motorsport.
As a Hardware Engineer, you will play an important role creating next-generation Electronic Control Units (ECUs). You will join a collaborative, highly technical engineering team where your work has a direct impact. Your market will be truly global, supporting customers across the EU, US, India, and the UK from initial specification all the way to mass production.
Work tasks
In this role, you will own the hardware development lifecycle. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality products on time and within scope. Your main responsibilities will include:
- End-to-End Hardware Design: Developing specifications, schematics, component configurations, and PCB designs for advanced ECUs.
- Documentation & Strategy: Creating Bill of Materials (BOM) and documented design strategies, including hardware design descriptions and precise calculations.
- Design Verification: Ensuring technical excellence through rigorous testing and verification phases.
- Customer Collaboration: Acting as a technical bridge for clients worldwide. This includes understanding their needs, supporting them from prototyping to certification, and occasionally traveling to client sites to help implement the products firsthand.
We are looking for
- A university degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a similar field
- A strong, demonstrable interest in hardware development (gained through university, professional experience, or personal hobby projects).
- Solid knowledge of embedded systems hardware.
- Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken
It is meritorious if you have experience in:
- Working in a similar role within a company in the automotive industry
- Group Lead – daily planning and follow up of deliverables
- Power electronics development
- Emotor control
- Unmanned Vessels/Vehicles
- Low level software: HardWare InterFace (HWIF) and eTPU coding
- Establishing and maintaining customer relations
