About the role

Our client is a technology-driven company with a highly experienced and senior development team. In the role of Backend Developer, you will join an engineering unit consisting of five backend developers, five frontend developers, two DevOps engineers, UX designers and tester. The group is characterized by a supportive and open culture where team members regularly discuss complex problems, share domain expertise, and help each other when facing technical roadblocks. You will play an active role in the further development of the core product, analyzing requirements for new features, as well as driving both maintenance and new development across the backend services.

As a Backend Developer, you will work in close collaboration with both the UX and frontend departments to translate requirements into clear technical specifications and robust implementations. On a day-to-day basis, you will work autonomously with tasks managed via Jira, spanning bug fixes and major user stories prioritized within the sprint. Your daily routine includes participating in stand-ups, reviewing colleagues' code, writing unit tests, and validating functionality across development environments. Additionally, you will support new client integrations and contribute to system maintenance and service upgrades.

Work tasks

• Perform new development and further enhancement of backend services and core product features.
• Collaborate closely with UX and frontend teams to define technical requirements and implement solutions.
• Assist with client integrations by onboarding new customers to the platform's services.
• Resolve assigned Jira tickets, including bug fixes, system maintenance, and user stories.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, monitor the sprint board, and align on team priorities.
• Conduct code reviews for peers and ensure quality through thorough unit testing and environment validation.

We are looking for

• An engineering degree in IT (Master's or Bachelor's in Engineering) or a degree from Higher Vocational Education (YH).
• At least 3 years of professional experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience working with databases such as MongoDB and SQL.
• Practical knowledge of Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Knowledge of Swedish, both written and spoken.
• Experience with Kafka and AWS environments.
